| Last week we gave you tips for planning a debt-free wedding – this week, we got crafty. We've seen pictures of these adorable paper blossoms, but they always looked too good to be true. (We were wary about centerpieces made of cardstock from Staples). But after some trial and error and one minor paper cut, we're delighted to report that these blooms are both good and true. They're an ideal wedding-budget saver – you can make 2,000 blooms for $20 (and a lot of free help from your best friends) – but they also make a great kitchen table arrangement or hostess gift that won't wilt. All you need is a stack of pretty-colored cardstock (heavy-weight paper), some school glue, a pencil, a pair of scissors and some downtime. So pour some wine, prepare to de-clog your Tivo, and indulge in a little craft therapy. |

| Cut a sheet of cardstock into four squares (or rectangles). And don't worry about making them the same size – a variety of shapes adds personality. |
| With a pencil, lightly draw a spiral, about four or five loops wide. |
| Cut along the spiral, then trim each end so it comes to a point. (Tip: Hide a sloppy cutting job by trimming any jagged ends and gently erasing visible pencil lines.) |
| Starting from the outside end, roll the spiral up tightly, until there's nothing left to roll. |
| Secure the end of the flower with a drop of glue, and hold it tight until it's dry (about 15 seconds). |
| Experiment with different vases and bowls, and try adding some earthy twigs. |
