Summer is a time to lighten up, so set your heavy black frames aside. Try a pair of plastic frames in beige, burgundy, olive or any lighter shade (in other words, skip the neon). More often than not, colored frames are more flattering on the face, especially if you have light skin or hair.

The rule of thumb when it comes to picking flattering glasses is to choose something opposite from your face shape (unless you have an oval face, in which case you can wear anything). Round faces rejoice! Square is one of the most popular shade shapes right now. Skip this trend if you have a defined or strong jaw.
