Last night, Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow became the first female to win in the Best Director category (fittingly taking the stage to Helen Reddy’s you-go-girl anthem “I Am Woman”). But that wasn't the only win for womankind…the dresses embodied a glamour that hasn’t been so prevalent in ages. The dominant trend was an ethereal bodice, where dresses flowed down figures like waterfalls. From a plethora of Marchesa (most noticeably on Sandra Bullock, the Best Actress in the best dress) to a cast color-coordinated in rich blue shades, (the team behind Precious, who took home Best Adapted Screenplay) here’s who ruled the red carpet at the 82nd annual Academy Awards.
